The Paragon Project Desktop Launcher
This is a simple Windows application (sorry mac users) that can be used to easily navigate to all things PP related quickly and easily, right from your desktop. This was originally intended for my own private use so I could get to where I needed to go much faster, but it quickly turned into something that I think many of you guys will also find very useful.
Plus it's just cool
The launcher comes packaged as an installable exe file, so to set it up you simply run the setup file just like you are installing any other program. It will install to "Program Files\Paragon Project" by default, unless you specify a different location. It will also add a shortcut and uninstaller to your start menu, and put a shortcut on your desktop for ease of use.
There are two different flavors, one with music and one without music. Even though the one with music is cool, I personally prefer the non-music version because after a while (I've been using this for a week or so already) the music can grow stale. However, I'd say give the music a shot first, then when it gets old you can always download the "silent" version and install it instead (a fresh install will automatically overwrite the old one and remove the music, no uninstall is necessary).
Both versions are very light-weight, with the music version being about 2.9 megs and the silent version only around 900 kbs. Each should download and install in minutes.
Download:
NOTE: Right click and "save as", or simply left click to open and install directly.

Yes and no.
I used a "template" to begin with, then customized it to fit my needs. I don't know any advanced computer programming, so I couldn't make it from scratch.
Basically, I just edited all kinds of variables to make it behave the way it wanted it to, and added the background and music. |

I forgot to mention: those of you who are using the music-enabled version can replace the original music with ANY music of your choosing. However, it must be a WAV file, not an MP3. If you want to use an MP3 just go to download.com and search for an MP3 to WAV converter.
Once you've got the WAV you want to use, just rename it to "music.wav" and go to "Program Files\Paragon Project\internals" and replace the old music file with it. |
